Instructions for Setting up a Dial UP connection or Changing your NumberTo set up or change the access number on your computer, locate your operating system below and follow the instructions. Dial-Up Setup XPBefore you get started, make sure you have your TDL or ECIS Account Information available. This would be your user name (ie: username@TDL.com or username@ECIS.com), your password for your account and the dial up number you need for dial up access. (Click here to find dial up numbers) First, Create a new Dial Up ConnectionClick on the "Start" button, then from the menu choose "Connect to" then choose "Show all connections". That opens the Network Connections window: Then click "Create a new connection" That brings up the New Connection Wizard
Click Next Select... Connect to the Internet
Click "Next" Select.... Set up my connection manually
Click "Next" Click the button next to Connect using a dial-up modem
Click "Next" In the ISP Name box, type in anything you like. We suggest TDL or ECIS as names for the connection. The name you enter here is not user for anything except to help you indentifity this dial up connection.
Click "Next" As an example......In the South San Jose area use the phone number 408-903-1055, otherwise use a number from our Dial Up Numbers List
Click "Next" From your IHOT Account Information, enter the Access Username in the Username box.
Click "Next" You're almost Done!
Click "Finish"
Finally, You're Done! Connect to the Internet Click on the Dial button to connect to the Internet Then, open your Internet Browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape or Opera) or your Email Program (Outlook, Netscape or Eudora). To get to the TDL or ECIS Dial up Connection window to connect to the internet in the future, double-click on the Shortcut you created by checking the box on the last setup screen, on your desktop. To Change your setting in the future:Click on the "Start" button, then from the menu choose "Connect to" then choose "Show all connections". That opens the Network Connections window: Find the connector you creater with a name can idenity and double click on it. The following will appear. Just change the phone number if you have a new number. To change your password follow the instuction in the password box.
