I often do nebs in the car....whenever I'm inhaling an antibiotic, I do it on the way to work. The amount of time is perfect (about 1/2 an hour). I also do my albuterol neb on the way home if I'm doing extra therapy in the afternoon. The other time a portable neb is great is on airplanes. Usually by the time I arrive anyplace (unless it's a short flight), the inactivity has left me feeling gunky and hauling my stuff around the airport is a lot easier if I do a neb as we land. I have both a Pari Trek that I use most while traveling, but I also have a MicroAir that's quiet and small. Because it's a medically necessary device the flight attendants can't ask me to turn it off. I always carry a medical letter though, just in case anyone asks to see one whether in security or on the plane.
