: For the first 30 years of my life, my main health issue with CF has been maintaining my weight and I've always considered myself to a "fit" person with good muscle tone and energy levels. I've done a pretty good job, but it's because I've always eating anything I want, but staying active and taking my enzymes accordingly. Now that I am in my mid 30's, I still have very little problems keeping my weight up, but I'm guessing that my metabolism has slowed, because I am having a harder time staying in shape. Specifically, I'm getting that unwanted lower torso protrusion (aka beer belly and love handles). I've had to go to the next size up on pants waist, but I'm not gaining the weight that ypically goes along with that "process". I typically eat a sizable portion of convenience food (processed foods, frozen meals, boxed meals, fast food, etc.) because I'm a busy guy and usually on the go...and I'm often just too lazy to cook a "CF healthy" meal. I'll admit, I indulge in the occasional beer...or 3, but nothing excessive, and no more than I did 5 years ago. In the last couple months I've cut WAY back on the adult beverages, and I started back at the gym working out regularly, but not much has changed in the lower torso region. I don't drink coffee or soda at all, but I do enjoy my daily 20 oz. G2 low calorie Gatorade...or two. I do have chronic back "issues", so doing a regular intensive ab work out is not the greatest, nor the easiest for me.
: Can anybody suggest a "healthier" way to get those high calorie, high fat foods without sacfrificing the convenience factor? I enjoy cooking, but don't have a lot of time for that on work days. I never thought I would have this problem...who's ever heard of a CFer with a love handles and a belly?!
: Thanks!
