For anyone who hasnt heard or is quite not up to speed on viruses etc, I just wanted to put out a warning of a upper respiratory virus called RSV, under normal circumstances it probably will give you no more than a sore throat and a raspy relentless cough, but it has the potential to really knock you for a six, and more so if your lung function is not the best or you are post lung transplant
I am currently in hospital with RSV and I am struggling with it big time, I pride myself on keeping myself fit and healthy, especially being post tx, but this virus has hit me really hard, with lung function dramatically dropped, O2 sats dropped and no view of being sent home any time soon.
So please be aware of this virus and if you suspect it, get swabbed for it and don't underestimate how hard it can hit you.
