Finally out of hospital after 2 weeks of IV merropenum, IV Ribivrin and IV Tobra (not sure the treatment is the same as the US), I was also given high doses of methylpred as I just wasn't getting any better, so the methylpred was added 3 days into, they weren't about to mess about, as apparently the virus has the potential to do permanent damage to the small airways and post tx once they are shot, they aren't repairable and the loss of lung function is permanent...Luckily I do not have any permanent damage from the infection, but am still quite weak and now 100%....
I am also now learning to live as a diabetic (thank you predisone)
Been out of hospital for a week now, and today woke with a sore throat, sneezing and generally feeling unwell, so I am hoping I am not gearing up for a second hit, I just do not have the strength for it right now...
How are things with you Tara? how are the twins? they must be getting big now!!!
