We sleep in the same bed, but this was a big worry for me early in the relationship because I am a light sleeper. We also solved the problem with a good bed. We got a version of the tempurpedic. It is unbelievable. I never slept so well in my life. I don't feel him tossing and turning, and he is a big dude. When I started snoring he had a hard time with me, but i got diagnosed with sleep apnea and got a bipap which solved that problem. When one of us is sick, we use our guest bed. So we definitely separate when colds are involved. I tell you though, the reason we do sleep in the same room is only because we have a tempurpedic bed. seriously. best. thing. ever.
We tried the sleep number but we didn't like that you were divided in the center. With this, you sink in and can sleep where=ever you want. We also got a California king, so we have enough space. Again, he is a big dude, so we need space.
