And the Votes are In! Thanks to all of you for coming to our meeting last month and voting to give $14 per student per classroom. We know this will greatly benefit every child at Schafer Park, as it contributes to purchasing items your teacher deems necessary for the success of the children. You also voted to purchase the Test Ready, testing booklets for the purposes of preparing our kids for the Cat 6 testing next Spring. We are currently completing the necessary paperwork to implement these important decisions.
FUNDRAISER - Success! Although our cookie dough fundraiser was a bit rushed, we profited nicely. The PTC made $2,089 and is planning ways to give back to our kids at Schafer Park. Thanks to all of the parents, students, teachers and families that participated, by selling the cookies, picking up the orders and distributing the goods!
Membership Gifts! We are so happy with the motivation we have seen in the outpouring of involvement, thanks to all of you for helping us to make a difference in our community and school. We have purchased a little token of appreciation for our families that have joined the PTC this year! Please come to our Parent Teacher Club meeting December 10th at 6:30 to claim your gift. We are also having a Turkey Raffle, so come and increase your chance of taking home a turkey for Christmas dinner! Membership members: we need your help! Please provide us with your phone number, as we missed this bit of information on the membership envelopes. We need this to contact you during the school year about important membership events. Thanks! (You can give it to us at the meeting, or drop us a note with your name, childs name and room number, along with your phone number.)
Coat Drive! We are holding a coat drive, December 15th-17th. Please reference the flyers posted around the school and on our bulletin board. We will put out boxes on these three days, and are asking the kids to drop them off before or after school. For those children at Schafer Park that have outgrown their jacket, or are without; you can feel free to pick up a jacket on the 17th, before or after school until 3:30 pm. We will then box up those that are left and distribute them to shelters in Hayward.
PTC Events- We had a wonderful turn out at the Storyteller/Pajama night! Thank you all for coming and showing your support for the PTC. Pictures are posted on the bulletin board, come and take a look.
Up and coming: We will be conducting a survey for those parents who have younger children that will be entering kindergarten Fall 2004. We want to survey your interest in pre-school readiness workshops, which are geared towards teaching you how to prepare your little ones for kindergarten next fall. Look for this information to come out in January 2004.
Treasury Update: Correction: The Student Council contributed $1,000 towards the testing booklets last year, not the School Site Council, as previously reported, sorry once again.
Look! Visit Wal-Mart!!- We had a wonderful opportunity present itself in the way of a fundraiser. One of our parents volunteered to help us raise money for the school by selling cotton candy and Carmel-corn. The PTC sold HOT Carmel-corn last Friday evening and was warmly received. So many people were overwhelmingly in support of helping the school raise money. So if you have the opportunity, sign up to help! We need parent volunteers; Dec. 10-12, 15th, 16th, 19th, 22nd, 28th-30th. This is a great way to raise money for our school and help those hungry shoppers!
